January 8, 2016 (Hermosa Beach) - As the sun was setting I noticed a fascinating cloud formation offshore. I headed down to the beach and just waited until the colors appeared and the waves were receding to capture this beautiful winter sunset image. I love winter sunsets, the variation in colors; anywhere from lights redes and pinks to deep purples, and how clouds and water enhance the colors as occured in this image. August 3, 2014 (Manhattan Beach, CA) - A warm and tropical summer day, these days under the right conditions can produce colorful sunsets. I went to the beach to see if anything developed. I set up to use some painted volleyball pools to give whatever image I captured some framing and depth. The skies lit up beautifully, soft glows of various colors and the painted volleyball poles reminded me of large matchsticks. January 25, 2014 - Another warm winter day in Southern California and well placed offshore clouds to capture the last light of the setting sun. This lifeguard tower was pulled back from the waterline and shuttered for the winter. It made a beautiful foreground for the setting sun and this sunset picture. January 28, 2014 - There were some beautiful cloud formations. I made a last minute decision to head down to the beach and looked for the best shot to capture the formation when I came upon this shuttered lifeguard tower. I waited to see if the setting sun would produce a color show. When the colors arrived a quick adjustment in my location to properly position the tower beneath the clouds to capture the desired image.
