November 22, 2013 - The first storm of the season had passed and cleaned the air. Visibility throughout the Santa Monica Bay was amazing. Cloud activity around Palos Verdes Peninsula looked intriguing. Shot from a location up on the bluffs southeast of Point Vincente (Point Vincente Lighthouse is on the right). December 15, 2013 - Winter is a great time to capture colorful sunset images in Southern California. I've been exploring new locations like this one: White Point in San Pedro, CA. The conditions were setting up for an amazing sunset. Streaking clouds, excellent visibility (Santa Catalina Island 20+ miles off the coast - middle of the image) and a low tide (great for reflections) accompanied the sunset for this image. November 12, 2013 - The summer crowds are long gone leaving locals to enjoy a warm autumn day at the iconic Santa Monica Pier. A light breeze, beautiful cloud arrangements, and the Santa Monica Mountains create the backdrop for this image taken about 30 minutes before sunset at this well known beach destination. November 7, 2013 - Excellent visibility, streaking cloud formations, and a new location to photograph. I've made several attempts to capture an image from this secluded cove on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the conditions were finally ideal for this cloud formation as they appear to emanate from a point North of Santa Catalina Island. January 28, 2013 - Taken from the southern rock jetty at the Marina Del Rey channel, the blur in the lower middle left of the image are a couple of 4 person rowing teams coming in to the marina after practice under a brilliant red and yellow sunset. January 28, 2013 - A chily and windy day provided the elements for this image. Many clouds moving rapidly across the sky (I thought too many at the horizon to produce the best colors). I waited to see what would happen next as the blue sky mixed with the red clouds to create a purple reflection in the channel. The windy conditions and long exposure give the clouds a soft look.
